The Sundial was erected in the Rotary Park, at the 'turn of the 21st Century'; being erected by the Manilla Shire Council and Community on the 1st January, 2000. (I wonder if the Y2K 'bug' was in the 'back of their minds').
Unfortunately, A) it was raining (drizzling) when I was there, and B) the gnomon was missing from the plate. It sits on the narrow top the rectangular brown stele, above the plaque announcing that the Baker's Coach and Wagon Factory had been on this site from 1902 to 1943. Part of the inscription cast onto plate declares that it was cast by the Phoenix Foundry, of Uralla, NSW, Australia. It also has a quote on the outer edge:
"Let others tell of storms and showers. I'll only count your sunny hours."
