The gilded-lettering of the wooden sign hanging at the entrance states, "THE OLD POLICE STATION". And a Historical Marker for the property next door states that this was built at the same stage as the Stationmaster's house just over the road, in 1868, when the railway was put through.

It is now comfortable accommodation, if you want to stay in the area. (visit link)
