[EN] The village of Zonza is well known for hikers who head for the gorgeous needles of Bavella around which we admire impressive Laricio pines deformed by the prevailing winds. On both sides of the village, old chestnut trees have been spreading their crowns for over a thousand years. It is certainly an estimate but the circumference of the trunk, more than 10 meters, suggests that these are millennia trees. One of them stands in a private meadow opposite the Mouflon-d'Or inn. The other is below the village on the road to Bavella.
