Not much remains of Clearville in Orford Township, Chatham-Kent County but the area has a long history. There is a cairn with a plaque of the first meeting of Oxford County at the entrance of the path leading south to a plaque of the small cemetery It has been recently restored where you can see the memorial stones and some more history of the early pioneers in this area. It's recommended that you park at the road side because the ruts along the path will wreck the under carriage of your car. Also, if going to the cemetery during the day, do it in the early morning during summer or during the fall or wear a jacket. I was repeatedly bitten during the warm summer day that I went.
