Prospector is a wood craving showing him kneeling panning for gold. This region is well known for its rich deposits of gold during the Cariboo Gold rush. Those wishing to strike it rich flocked to this region of British Columbia.
Though this prospector is unsigned, Ken Sheen has done similar carvings with a prospector in this pose. The prospector is mounted on a wood stump also carved.
The World's Invitational Gold Panning Championships held each August in Taylor, will be holding their 47th annual event in 2019.
