From the whatpub website:-
"Re-opened late 2018 and closed again in 2019. Major renovation is planned so the pub should re-open later in 2019.

‘Oswestry’s Oldest Established Inn’ is situated opposite the Parish Church of St Oswald. Having been run for many years by former Shrewsbury Town footballer, Carleton Leonard, the Bell has new management and re-opened after a major refurbishment in April 2016. The basic layout is unchanged, with two street level drinking area either side of the central bar area. One side has the traditional bar feel with a prominent dartboard, the other side tends to be an eating area during the day with the emphasis shifting towards the large screen TV in the evening. The larger drinking area at the rear with varnished wooden flooring is equipped with more seating, a log burner, gaming machines and an interesting large scale old map of the town on the wall.

The pub enters into a range of activities, such as live music, TV sport and Poker nights, with home-cooked food on offer as well."
