The Towanroath Shaft engine pumping house.
With the mine shaft sinking some 185 metres and with workings extending out under the sea bed, this building was utilised for pumping out water from the depths of the mine shaft

The mine finally closed in 1914. The National Trust which manages the land and mining artifacts in this area restored the Towanarth Shaft Engine House in 1973.

It is now a grade 2 listed building
