This forgotten trestle bridge lies just west of US RT 23. It lies only a few yards off the highway, yet hidden from most passing motorists by a veil of trees.

The bridge was located on Umstead Road and appears to mostly have been a "farm road" providing access to the nearby farmhouse just to the east of US-23.

After the bypass was built the bridge fell out of use, as traffic naturally bypassed Umstead Road. The road is now overgrown and the bridge has not been maintained in years.
