Further information
Church Guide leaflet has: "In Eddowe's Shrewsbury of 13 January 1858 there is an
account of the opening of the organ: "the want of such an accessory to the due
performance of divine worship has long been felt.....a very beautiful instrument
having a sweet and powerful tone, was purchased at a cost, after some
careful alterations, of £123"; also the Post Office Directory for Shropshire
for 1870 records "in the gallery there is a fine-toned organ built by Father
Schmidt"; FJ"
