According to the Society's website, it owns one of Ontario’s most significant collections of artifacts. The strengths of the collection include early Canadian furniture, textiles, militaria and documents.

"Niagara" is world renowned and so there is also some interesting findings related to early tourism and other aspects of Canada’s history before World War I.

The museum is located in the former Niagara High School. Along with the neighbouring Memorial Hall, it is designated as an Ontario Heritage Property and is also in the register of Canada's Historic Places.
