The Lookout Tower Friedrichshafen is a tower at the top of the western breakwater at the harbor of Friedrichhafen, one of the largest harbors at one of Europe's largest lakes,
Lake Constance.
After a construction time of only 15 weeks, the tower was dedicated on September 24, 2000, as part of a complete overhaul of the harbor's breakwaters.
The tower weighs 47 tons and is actually 238 feet (72.5 m) tall, but 180'5" are under water. The height above water level is 57'7" (22.5 m). Stairs lead up to 9 levels, of which the top two are designed as viewing platforms for 50 people each.
From the top of the tower, one can overlook huge parts of Lake Constance and the three countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) bordering it.
