There are two canons by the monument. It is in a lawn area.

text on front "In memory of the heroes of Fabius who served their country in the Civil War 1861 - 1865"
text on side "Erected on the site of his family homestead and presented to the Town of Fabius by James Jerome Belden A.D. 1901."
