This date can be seen on the top gable of the town hall in the small Angus town of Kirriemuir. This elaborate building is built, like most of the buildings in the town, in red sandstone.
The building is situated in Reform Street, north of the town centre, and is attached to the town's library which lies to the west. The date can be seen at the top of the main facade (south side), which faces the street.
