B-11 Recoilless Rifle

Syrian forces abandoned this Soviet-built B-11 recoilless anti-tank gun during the Yom Kippur war against Israel in 1973.

A Canadian military observer with the United-Nations peacekeeping force in the Golan Heights later recovered the gun. It was displayed outside Camp Roofless, home from 1973 to 2006 to a 200 strong communications and logistics contingent in the area of separation between Israeli and Syrian forces. The weapon was donated to the Canadian War Museum in 1976.
