The sign is at the crest on the New England Highway, at the northern downhill entry to the community of Moonbi. It is a regular, reflective sign, presumably installed by the Department of Main Roads (DMR), some years ago. And while the Elevation that is stated - 460 metres, would not have changed, the Population seems to have decreased. The rounded-edged, rectangular sign is held aloft on two galvanised steel posts.

The area was first settled with the Kamilaroi and Anaiwon Aboriginal people, with white settlers coming in the 1850's looking for land to graze their cattle. A Post Office opened in 1859 - while the NEW one had only just opened, when I was there in March 2019. The village was given a population of 357 people in the 2006 census, and is about 20km north of Tamworth, on the New England Highway. [Some info from Wikipedia: (visit link) ]
