Boer forces used this German-made Krupp 75 mm gun during the South African War (1899-1902).
In the early stages of the war, guns like this frequently outperformed British artillery. British forces captured this example at the November 1900 Battle of Bothaville. It is one of six guns imported for the Orange Free State Artillery Corps in 1892. Given to Canada as a war trophy, it was displayed on Parliament Hill in 1906.

Parking on the street in proximity to the museum as well as on the grounds of the museum is available for a fee. A parking garage is also available on site.
