This memorial tablet for Henry Haskins Spencer can be found in Kirk Maughold.
The brass tablet carries the crest of The Royal Indian Engineering College and has a boarder of regular squares. The full text of the dedication is reproduced below:

ASSISTANT CONSERVATOR OF FORESTS
WHO DIED IN BENGAL ON APRIL 3,1897.

THIS MEMORIAL IS ERECTED, JULY 1899 BY

The Brass tablet is on a white marble mount on the northern internal wall of the church. This mount is inscribed with the following text:

The manxnotebook website shows that Henry attended King Williams College in Castletown.His attendance at 'King Bill's was recorded in the King Williams College Register 1833-1904 complied and arranged by H.S. Christopher, Secretary to the Trustees, and published in Glasgow by James MacLehose & Sons in 1905:
"1898. Two side windows were put in the chapel in memory of the late Rev. T. E. Brown, a former Vice-Principal, and also one in memory of H. H. Spencer, presented by his old school-fellows."

The Royal Indian Engineering College (or RIEC) was a British college of Civil Engineering run by the India Office to train civil engineers for service in the Indian Public Works Department. It was located on the Cooper's Hill estate, near Egham, Surrey. It functioned from 1872 until 1906, when its work was transferred to India.
