This wild bee hotel is in the Kanata community of Morgan's Grant, south of Brady Avenue and east of the paved pathway. This green space is a hydro-electricity corridor maintained by the Hydro One utility company. Hydro One donated the wild bee hotels. Actually, municipal taxpayers of Kanata North (Ottawa Ward 4) have been paying a special levy which likely covers the cost of the bee hotels.

The bee hotels were installed by the Briarbrook, Brookside, and Morgan’s Grant Community Association (BMGCA). According to the BMGCA web site, there are two other wild bee hotels nearby, one to the south (#2) and one to the north (#3). Other waymarkers may wish to post those insect hotels.
