Located east of downtown Bradenton is the Braden Castle Park. Within the park is the Braden Castle ruins. This structure was built in 1850 by brothers Dr. Joseph Addison Braden and his brother Hector as the home and fortress for their sugar cane plantation. It caught fire in 1903 and is now just the tabby wall remains.
