The entrance to the Manasota Memorial Park off of 15th Street East has a brick arch. This arch was built in 1925 when the cemetery was named Manasota Burial Park. The name Manasota is derived from combining Manatee and Sarasota. Bradenton is located in Manatee County and Sarasota County is just to the south. The cemetery served as a final resting place for residents of Sarasota and Manatee counties.
