A three arched 18th Century stone bridge carrying the old turnpike road from Bethesda to Bangor.
The bridge was widened in the early 19th Century due to increased traffic.
There is currently no pavement on the bridge and the heavy traffic of trucks to and from Penrhyn Quarry make crossing it only possible with great care.
The name Pont Twr (Tower Bridge) is derived from a Medieval tower believed to have been located nearby.
