In 2014 the "Outside the Box" program was organized by Hartford's Marketing, Events, & Cultural Affairs Office (MECA) and Livable Sustainable Neighborhoods Initiative. Area artists were selected, and each winning artist was given a utility box on Franklin Avenue to paint, to create a series of painted utility boxes public art along Franklin Avenue.
The utility box on on Franklin Avenue at the intersection of Adelaide Street was painted by Christina Blakemore. It features a homage to poison ivy. The plant is shown with its leaves in two stages of development. Young yeaves are reddish and mature leaves are green. pink and green. The for sides of the utility box are inscribed in double lined letters:
