Made of volcanic rock, this chimney was probably part of a line camp for cowboys in the area. The rock is scattered throughout the area so little shaping would have been required. The mound of rock in front is possibly the rest of the chimney. The cabin itself would have been of wooden construction. Now the chimney is the focus of campers and off roaders who make recreational use of the area.
