The horizontally mounted, square bronze Sundial is on what seems to be a carved sandstone pedestal. Unfortunately the gnomone has been partly broken, but it was still giving a fairly accurate time, considering that there was Daylight Saving to take into account. It is flanked by two millstones, which are mentioned in the history/Timeline plaque. The bronze plaque on the side of the Waggan Sundial is just plain hard to read in real life. It appears to read:
THE OLD WAPPAN SUNDIAL
Counted the fleeting hours there
till years turned into generations
it now counts the hours for you
