On the southern side of the round-about of Maroondah Highway (aka High Street), and Highett Street is the divided road/median strip of Highett Street, with an unusual Town Clock Tower.

From a Theatre Nurse's perspective, this stand, or Clock Tower, looks like a modified plaster spreader, used to remove the plaster of Paris splint of a broken arm. It looks that it is hinged with a pivot point, and two obtusely angled, metal supports holding the off-square clock frame between the 'jaws'. The lower part of the stand has simultaneously tapering outer-sides and widening edges, of sheets of metal, welded to form a hollow box, that meets at the pivot about 3 metres off the ground. While the upper, shorter part of the stand, has both the outer sides and edges tapering, to form pyramidal prisms, that are splayed out from the pivot point - N.B. the pivot point being a small Lions Club logo welded at the contact point between the two sides of the stand. The legs of the stand are painted a pink-brown (salmon-colour), with the western one having a metal flap on the inner side of the leg.

The white circular clock face is within a rectangular, metal sided box, that is supported with two narrow metal struts to the upper part of the stand. They have two narrow concentric rings, with minute tick-marks, and inverted 'V' for the five minute part, where there is a Roman numeral, and the '4' is represented with 'IIII', instead of IV. The black minute and hour hands are slightly tapered, with right-angled tips.

Address: Median strip of Highett Street, Mansfield, Vic, 3722, Australia
