This 4-place seeder was made by the Am. S. M. Company, Evans Division, in Springfield, Ohio. It looks like seed was put into the two hoppers and then transported down a small tube to right behind a small spade that opened up the ground for seed placement, after which another metal piece closes up the furrow. It really is a fascinating piece of old-world technology.
