There is no documented evidence of what where or when. However, I have come up with the conclusion. Within this area there has been recent open cast mining for Tungsten, which is documented. Given that in other disused mines within the South West of England had large deposits of Tin, Copper and Arsenic. It was not uncommon for the time mines to find and mine for Wolfram (Tungsten)
As I have only been able to find one "Lone" single chimney, I would suggest that. This particular chimney was used in the process of Arsenic.
What is characteristic for the process of refining Arsenic was that the workings and chimney was away from the main mining areas.
