From the (visit link) website :-
"This memorial was unveiled in December 1925 by Lord Kenyon to commemorate the local people who had fallen in the First World War. A further 30 names were added in 2006, following research by local historians David Williams and Geraint Owen.

The names of people who died in the Second World War are displayed on panels on the wall behind the column. Also on the wall is a memorial to a local soldier killed in the Falklands conflict in 1982."
