"Parish Church. Nave, chancel, west tower, north and south porches (the south porch now the vestry). Mainly coursed flint with stone dressings, cement render to nave, chancel and the side walls of porch; plaintiled roofs (modern plaintiles to north slope of nave roof). Very fine round tower, C12 or earlier; single light west window, restored, with one order of colonettes and chevron moulding to arch; about half way up is a band of tall blank arches, with slit windows to north, south and west; 2-light recessed bell chamber openings on 4 sides; early C16 red brick crenellated parapet, octagonal, the centre of each face with a quatrefoil within a square panel. C12 nave with 2 restored C15 windows; the north wall has the remains of a C12 window with chip- carved head above the porch roof. Simple C15 north porch with knapped flint facade and 2-light side windows. Chancel considerably restored 1862, with new windows in Decorated style. Interior of nave widened by removing lower part of wall and supporting upper walling on continuous moulded corbel course; richly ornamented neo-Norman tower arch. Good arch-braced nave roof, 4 bays, angels to either side of the apex of each principal and to the foot of the wall posts, square bosses at intersection of principals and purlins, east-west arch-braces between wall posts, supporting the cornice. Font with C13 octagonal bowl of Purbeck marble with 2 arched blank panels to each face, C15 stem carved with lions; late C14 piscina with cusped ogee arch and traceried spandrels; a few medieval benches with poppyhead ends; the modern stalls incorporate part of the traceried head of the rood screen; C17 holy table; wooden reredos dated 1881, extending the full width of the chancel; arms of George II above chancel arch; 2 hatchments in nave. North chancel with C18 wall monument to Bence family, with long Latin inscription; south nave with tablet to Ann Golding (d.1794); some C19 stained glass in chancel. Graded I for tower."
