This memorial can be found inside Kirk Maughold in Maughold.

The memorial is for Robert Elliot Allen who was killed in action on 24th May 1915 at the Battle of Bellewaarde Ridge, near Ypres, aged 28.

The memorial is a white marble plaque on a black marble mounted on the northern interior wall of the church.

The inscription on the mememorial reads as follows:
"In Loving Memory of
ROBERT ELLIOT ALLEN, ADVOCATE,
ELDER SON OF THOMAS ALLEN, C.P. J.P.
OF BELLE VUE, IN THIS PARISH.
WHO ENLISTED IN THE 9TH (QUEEN'S ROAYL) LANCERS,
AND WAS KILLED IN ACTION IN FLANDERS,
MAY 24TH 1915, AGED 28 YEARS.
"THY WILL BE DONE."

The inscription is set below a relief representation carved into the marble of the Regimental Crest of the 9TH Lancers.

Marble plaque. Private Robert Elliot Allen is also remembered on the Law Society war memorial which was unveiled in May 1922 in Douglas Court House by the Lieutenant Governor, along with Thomas Lewin and John Bell Nelson (No 222020). Trooper Robert Elliot ALLEN (9th Queen's Royal Lancers), of Maughold. Killed in action on 24th May 1915 at the Battle of Bellewaarde Ridge, near Ypres, aged 28. Remembered with honour by King William's College, Isle of Man, where he was a pupil from 1900 to 1905. During a short ceremony held today at the War Memorial in Kirk Maughold churchyard, KWC pupils Lewis and Emma, also of Maughold, laid a wreath of poppies in his honour.
