Johnny Leroux Stittsville Community Arena
This arena is named in commemoration of the dedication and achievements of
Johnny Leroux
In recognition of his commitment to the improvements of this community and the leadership and devotion he has demonstrated as a volunteer in local sports. Johnny has worked tirelessly as a coach, organizer and official.
Johnny is also recognized for his military service in the Korean War and his commitment to the Stittsville Legion.
An accomplished athlete, Johnny is a former Canadian Army Featherweight Boxing Champion and winner of the Golden Glove competition in Montreal.
Johnny's contribution will forever be remembered and honoured by family, friends, neighbours and the community.
Dedicated on this 11th day of March 2011.

Avec toute notre gratitude pour son engagement envers l’amélioration de cette collectivité et du leadership et du dévouement dont il a fait preuve en tant que bénévole sur la scène sportive locale, Johnny a travaillé sans relâche en tant qu’entraîneur, qu’organisateur et qu’officiel.
Nous rendons également hommage à Johnny pour son service militaire durant la guerre de Corée et pour son engagement envers la Légion de Stittsville.
Athlète accompli, Johnny est un ancien champion de boxe poids plume de l’armée canadienne, il a également remporté la compétition Gants d’or à Montréal.
La famille de Johnny, ses amis, ses voisins et la collectivité de souviendront toujours des contributions de Johnny et ne cesseront de lui rendre hommage.
Inauguré en ce 11e jour de mars 2011.

While the arena is opened at irregular intervals during the summer, please call in advance at ( 613) 580-2400, to confirm that it will be opened should you plan on visiting the plaque. In the fall and winter, the area is opened every day from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
