"YOXFORD is a parish, in Blything hundred and union, Halesworth county court district, Dunwich rural deanery, Suffolk archdeaconry, and Norwich diocese, East Suffolk, 23 miles north-east from London, 6 south from Halesworth, 23 north-east from Ipswich, 5south from Dunwich, 10 south from Aldborough, and a mile from Darsham railway station on the Great Eastern line. The church of St. Peter is an ancient structure, in the Perpendicular style: it has a tower with 6 bells, and surmounted by a small spire: it was enlarged in 1837, at a cost of £1,200."
