There was a reason the entire island of Galveston was raised after the 1900 Storm. Even with this precaution in September of 2008, Mother Nature tested the Island once more.

A high water plaque is just below the sixth step on this house located on 25th Street (Rosenberg Ave).

With 110 mile per hour winds and a storm surge of 22 feet, Hurricane Ike left a path of destruction across Galveston.
