"Depuis fin juin, la piscine Gilbert-Bozon de Tours est fermée au public pour cause de travaux d’entretien. Elle rouvrira le 4 septembre.
C’est sous une chaleur écrasante que les ouvriers s’activaient jeudi matin. Le grand bassin de la piscine Gilbert Bozon a été vidé mi-juillet pour y effectuer des travaux d’entretien.
« Il faut refaire quelques joints et surtout maintenir en état le mur mobile qui se trouve au centre du bassin », précise Sylvain Noblet, responsable des piscines de la ville de Tours. « On y prête particulièrement attention car il a été fait sur mesure, et ce serait très compliqué de le remplacer. »
Plus bas, le petit bassin connaît le même sort. Vidé de son eau fin juillet, il a quand même profité pendant un mois aux jeunes inscrits des stages Sports et Vacances. Une des pièces d’une goulotte était cassée depuis quelques années.
Les ouvriers, installés dans le petit bassin, ont déconstruit la rigole où s’écoule l’eau habituellement pour la refaire entièrement. « Même si une seule pièce est défectueuse, cela implique de changer la totalité, pour une question de sécurité, confirme Sylvain Noblet. C’est un petit bassin, mais un gros chantier ! » Une fois les travaux finis, la remise en eau pourra se faire.

Une telle opération prend quatre jours pour remplir le grand bassin. « Au total, c’est près de 2.400 m3 d’eau courante qu’il faut ensuite traiter et chauffer », confie le responsable. Les travaux actuels sont répétés tous les étés. Une tache difficile pour les ouvriers, qui ne peuvent travailler que le matin à cause de la chaleur étouffante. « On commence à 7 h pour terminer à 15 h. On travaille en continu, car l’après-midi, ici, c’est insoutenable », explique David, ouvrier du petit bassin. Si les travaux ne prennent pas de retard, la piscine ouvrira de nouveau au public mardi 4 septembre, à midi."

Further down, the small basin experiences the same fate. Emptied of its water at the end of July, it still benefited for a month to the young people registered for the Sports and Holiday internships. One of the parts of a trunking had been broken for a few years.
The workers, installed in the small basin, deconstructed the gutter where the water usually flows to completely rebuild it. "Even if only one part is defective, it means changing the whole part, for safety reasons," confirms Sylvain Noblet. It's a small pond, but a big construction site! "Once the work is finished, the water can be refilled.

Such an operation takes four days to fill the large basin. "In total, it is nearly 2,400 m3 of running water that must then be treated and heated," says the manager. The current work is repeated every summer. A difficult task for the workers, who can only work in the morning because of the stifling heat. "We start at 7:00 a. m. and finish at 3:00 p. m. We work continuously, because the afternoon here is unbearable," explains David, a worker in the small basin. If the work is not delayed, the pool will open again to the public on Tuesday, September 4 at noon."
