An ornate three-story building seems to belie the utilitarian activities going on inside by printing up important government documents. However, since the competition of the King's/Queen's Printer building in 1928 that is exactly what has happened.
The detailing of vertical columns and window frames gives an enormous height to the structure. This is further added to by the 15-foot main floor, the 12-foot middle floor, and the 9-foot top floor. It states a clear presence and importance of having a printing facility immediately across the street from the Legislature.
