Mary Pitt Centre
The city of Ottawa, with the distinguished cooperation of the Vered family and Arnon Corporation, is pleased to name this building in honour of the public service of Mary Pitt.
Mary Pitt was the last and only female Mayor of the former City of Nepean. As mayor, she ensured the Nepean legacy of being debt free. She worked tirelessly to strengthen Nepean as both a place of business and a wonderful community in which to live and raise a family.
In addition, Ms. Pitt generously continues to contribute her time and expertise to the community. She has served as director for the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation, the Ottawa Convention Centre, Villa Marconi Long Term Care Centre, Trustee of the Nepean Museum and chair of the Nepean Chamber of Commerce.

Mary Pitt a été la dernière, et la seule femme, à occuper le poste de maire de la ville de Nepean. À ce titre, elle a veillé à ce que Nepean ne laisse pas de dettes. Elle a travaillé inlassablement au renforcement de Nepean comme ville propice aux affaires et merveilleuse collectivité où vivre et élever une famille.
De plus, Mary Pitt continue de mettre généreusement son temps et son talent au service de la communauté. Elle a été membre du Conseil d’administration de l’hôpital Queensway-Carleton, du Centre des congrès d’Ottawa, du centre des soins de longue durée Villa Marconi et du Musée de Nepean, et présidente de la Chambre de commerce de Nepean.
