This plaque commemorates the life, service and achievements of
Heather Crowe (April 1945 - May 2006)
The official dedication of this area, the Heather Crowe Park, recognizes Heather Crowe's bravery and inspiration in educating the citizens of Ottawa and all Canadians about the dangers of second-hand smoke.
Heather Crowe, a non-smoker, was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer after 40 years in the hospitality industry. Not ready to silently succumb, Heather sparked a movement that connected young and old. She showed us that with courage and determination, the ordinary person could make an extraordinary difference; one person can change society for the better.
Heather Crowe will be forever remembered for improving the lives of all Canadians.
Dedicated on this 22nd day of May 2009.

Cette plaque commémore la vie, le service et les réalisations de
Heather Crowe (avril 1945 - mai 2006)
L’inauguration officielle de cet espace, le parc Heather-Crowe visant à sensibiliser les résidents d’Ottawa et de tout le Canada aux dangers de la fumée secondaire.
Heather Crowe, femme non fumeuse, s’est trouvé atteinte d’un cancer du poumon inopérable après 40 ans de service dans l’industrie du tourisme d’accueil. Ne voulant pas succomber en silence, Heather a initié un mouvement pour rassembler les jeunes et les plus agés. Elle nous a montré qu’avec du courage et de la détermination, une personne ordinaire peut arriver à faire une énorme diffàrence, qu’une seule personne peut changer la société pour le mieux.
Nous nous souviendront toujours de la contribution de Heather Crowe à l’amélioration de la vie de tous les Canadiens.
