The stand alone post office in Mansfield is a relatively new brick building across from city hall. The building has a large parking lot to serve customers. Post office is believe to have been built within the last 20 years, as no further info could be found. Mansfield itself is the parish seat of Desoto Parish, Louisiana, and has a population of 4,771 as of 2017. The city played a role in the American Civil War on April 8, 1864, in one of the largest battles west of the Mississippi River, the Battle of Mansfield.
