it is a town hall of a very small village which has been refurbished very recently. its exterior appearance is in a very modern style. the work dates back only a few decades.

The town experienced a more important commercial activity a few years ago. It was then located on the road between Niort and La Rochelle: the national 11. in 2002 a highway project was presented and this allowed to build a bypass of the city by a two-way two-lane road. The bypass was opened on January 14, 1999. Since then, the village has regained its former calm.
There are still a few small local hiccups: a resident to allow an artist to make a mural on the walls of his house without the consent of the town hall. and now the City Council asks for the destruction of the fresco.
The town is a dormitory town of La Rochelle or the Niortais basin.

c'est une mairie d'un tout petit village qui a été réaménagé très recemment. son aspect exterieur est dans un style très moderne. les travaux datent de quelques dizaine d'années seulement.


La commune a connue une activité commerciale plus importante il y a quelques années. Elle était alors située sur la route entre Niort et la Rochelle : la nationale 11. en 2002 un projet d'autoroute a été présenté et cela à permis d’aménager un contournement de la ville par une route deux-fois deux voies. Le contournement à été ouvert le 14 Janvier 1999. Depuis, le village a retrouvé son calme d'avant.
Il existe bien encore quelques petits couacs locaux : un habitant à autoriser un artiste à faire une fresque sur les murs de sa maison sans l'accord de la mairie. et maintenant la Mairie demande la destruction de la fresque.
La commune est une cité dortoir de la Rochelle ou du bassin Niortais.
