The ISS reached a high altitude of 45 degrees in the northeast at 04:33:24 CDT this morning with an expected magnitude of -2.6, at our Site 1: Guthrie, OK. From this location we observed the ISS initially below the big dipper to the northwest and followed it to disappear over seven minutes later in the haze just above the horizon in the southeast. The moon was bright (just one day past full moon) in the southwest and to its east Saturn and Jupiter were clearly visible - not appearing so low on the horizon as they did in Florida.

Meanwhile, at Site 2 in Lehigh Acres, FL the ISS reached an altitude of 76º at 05:37:45 EDT with an expected magnitude of -3.6. The distance between the two locations was 1,275 miles (4 min 21 sec flight time)x(293 mi/min).

Thanks so much to BoomersOTR for doing this ISS sighting with us!
