The two storey former George and Dragon Hotel was built in 1855 from local bluestone with decorative sandstone around the windows and doors . The former hotel was used as a preparatory schoolby the Geelong Grammar School for use as a preparatory school between 1878 and 1911, at present it is occupied by an Italian restuarant
