HH.-Antonius en Barbarakapel, Veulenseweg, Leunen. Eerste vermelding 1646 in het “Reeckenboeck” van de penningmeester van “het Ellendige Gilde” (armenzorg), huidig gebouw einde 19e eeuw. Reden van de stichting: volgens Tonia Loonen, in 1939 bewoonster van de Loonenplats, is deze kapel gesticht ter afwering van besmettelijke (vee)ziektes. Historisch onderzoek bevestigt dit en wijst naar de pest, die rond 1636 in de hele streek huishield. Antonius-abt is een van de pestpatronen

HH.-Antonius and Barbarakapel, Veulenseweg, Leunen. First mention 1646 in the "Reeckenboeck" of the treasurer of "the Miserable Guild" (care for the poor), current building at the end of the 19th century. Reason for the foundation: according to Tonia Loonen, resident of the Loonenplats in 1939, this chapel was founded to ward off infectious (livestock) diseases. Historical research confirms this and points to the plague, which housed the entire region around 1636. Antonius abbot is one of the plague patterns
