The 'Ordnance QF 25-pounder' was commonly used by Australia in the Second World War, as it was made in the United Kingdom. While Australia was to later start manufacturing the 25-pounder, that led to a shorter-barreled version, more suitable for off-road deployment typical of Australia. Many of the WW2 field guns also saw service in Korea and the Malayan Emergency.
