This is the original model of Jesus crucified used on the village cross (visit link) , which is now situated above the war memorial plaques in the church (visit link) . The figure of Jesus was modelled on one from Madeliene Church, Paris. A small metal plaque labels the cross.
It was comissioned by Earl and Countess of Gainsborough; Viscount Campden.
