This bench in honour of Gary M. Armstrong can be found in the Maughold Graveyard. The bench is the second bench on the eastern boundary wall from the entrance.
This reddish-brown wooden bench has a horizontally slatted seat and a vertically slatted backrest. It also has two armrests.
The rectangular plaque on the backrest of this bench is inscribed as follows:
“’I’LL CLOSE MY EYES & WANDER THROUGH MY DREAMS.’
IN EVER-LOVING MEMORY OF
GARY M. ARMSTRONG
MARCH 25 TH 1963 – OCTOBER 7 TH 2006. “TA MEE MERIU’”
The Manx Gaelic ‘ta mee meriu’ translated as ‘I am with you” and is a from the Bible (Isaiah 41:10)
The bench is so positioned that it faces across the graveyard and offers views North Barrule.
