The bronze statue "Falconer on Horseback" by Martin Irwahn stands on the green area of an apartment building. It was created in 1954 and shows a falconer with his arms spread out on a horse. On the right hand sits a falcon with his wings spread out.
The artist:
August Julius Martin Irwahn (* 18. February 1898 in Hamburg; † 11. July 1981 in Eddelsen near Hittfeld, Seevetal) was a German painter and sculptor of the Lost Generation.
He worked with various materials such as bronze, stone, shell limestone and ceramics. Many of his works can be discovered in Hamburg.
