ANWB Monument Plaque, with number 62501/002, reads:

"• Dutch Reformed Church
The church history of Gieten dates back to the Middle Ages. Already in 1302 a "church lord of the village" is mentioned. However, the current church is of a later date. The tower became. to replace a loose bell chair. built in 1804. At the place where another church once stood. the current church building was erected in 1849. In the church there is a beautiful coat of arms of Nicolaas Harm van Echten.
