New neon for the popular Walkerville Brewery in Windsor's old distillery district.
The brewery traces its origins to 1890, when Hiram Walker, of distillery fame, opened the brewery. Since then, the brewery has had several homes, before finally settling here at Surge Plant #16, once an overflow warehouse for whisky produced at the distillery.
The brewery is open for tours on Saturdays at 1230, 1530 and 1700.
Weekday tours for groups of 15 or more may be arranged in advance only. Cost for all tours is $7, and includes sampling and a 12 ounce glass of beer at the end.
