The size of this cemetery tells me it was made for 1,000s back in 1912, but there are little more than 150 graves in it.

You have to go deep into rural Southern Alberta to find Allerston. It was a pioneer settlement in the first decade of the 1900s and it's Catholic Church, St. Isidore's, was established in 1912. At the same time, this cemetery was also established.
Based on the plaques next to the church, there were at least a couple of pioneers families that got things rolling for St. Isidore. Jacob and Mary Allers had 11 children and Bernard and Anna Vornbrock also had 11 children.
The church is still active with mass being held on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. There is a large cemetery behind the church - I think the original planners were expecting 1,000s of people to be buried. It turns out there are more like 150.
