This bronze plaque is angle-mounted on a trapezoidal concrete pillar, right next to the Howitzer. The plaque, from the LIONS CLUB OF COOMA reads:
"This field gun is a German Krupp 150mm howitzer made in 1915 and captured from the Turkish army by the Australian Light Horse in Palestine later in World War 1.
"It was given to the Lions Club of Cooma by the Australian War Memorial in 1968, and erected in Lions Park in Campbell Street.
"In 2000/2001 the Club refurbished and repainted the gun in its original colour, erected this podium and installed the gun on this site.
["The Lions Club also carried out the following construction work on this Vale Street beautification project.
* The Commemorative Wall in 1999.
* The Pathway linking the Commemorative Wall to this gun site and the Cenotaph precinct.
* The stone wall and ornamental fence from the RSL steps to the northern end of the gun podium.
The Lions Club of Cooma contributed $30,000 and many man hours of voluntary work to this project, and acknowledged voluntary contributions from the local community."]
